The six-day Tattersalls Ireland November NH Sale, starting on November 10th, features yearlings, foals and breeding stock hailing from some of the finest Irish and British NH families.


The sale is always a source of top-level success and Grade 1-winning graduates in the 2013-14 NH season include Gold Cup winner Lord Windermere, DJ Moriarty Novice Chase winner Ballycasey, Ascot Chase winner Captain Chris and Oscar Whisky, successful in the Scilly Isles Novices Chase. Exciting runners More Of That, Faugheen, The New One, Carlingford Lough, God’s Own and Abbyssial were Grade 1-winning graduates which also includes 8 time Grade 1 winner Sizing Europe.


The sale is preceded for a second year with the National Hunt Yearling Show, held in association with the Irish Thoroughbred Breeders Association, on Sunday, November 9th with a total prize-fund of €12,000.


All 272 yearlings catalogued in the sale are eligible, and nominations for the show close on Friday, November 7. Judges include bloodstock experts Aiden Murphy, Paul Webber, Guy Petit and Tom Lacey with a €2,500 first prize on offer for the leading colt or gelding with prizes down to tenth place, and a first prize of €2,000 for fillies with prizes down to fifth place.


Pedigree highlights in the yearling section of the sale catalogue include a Martaline half-sister to Albert Bartlett Spa Novices Hurdle (G1) winner Brindisi Breeze (Lot 149), close relations to Gold Cup winners Denman (Lot 171) (Lot 185)and Bobs Worth (Lot 166) (Lot 221), as well as a grey Yeats half-sister to the Group 1 Arkle and Bingham Novice Hurdle winner Simonsig (Lot 209).


A chestnut filly by Stowaway and a half-sister to this year’s World Hurdle winner More Of That sells as (Lot 124), while, also by Stowaway, is a half-brother to the Grade 2 winner Made In Taipan (Lot 218). To be offered early in the sale is an Arakan half-sister to the Welsh National hero Monbeg Dude(Lot 87) from Ardrums House Stud.


The yearling session is followed by a strong foal catalogue featuring individuals for all budgets, exciting prospects by both young and established sires, representatives from long-established NH families as well as closely-related siblings to some of the very best recent NH performers.


The classy trio of Champion Hurdle third and Aintree Hurdle (G1) winner The New One, fellow adversaries Rock On Ruby and Hurricane Fly, who between them are winners of three of the last four renewals of the hurdling crown, feature in a number of pedigrees.


Foxleigh House is offering a half-sister to The New One (Lot 571),Ballyclerihan House Stud has a Robin Des Champs March-born colt foal and a May filly by Flemensfirth out of own-sisters to Rock On Ruby (Lot 452)(Lot 453), while Grange Stud sells a Flemensfirth January-born filly out of Mucho Macabi, a half-sister to Hurricane Fly (Lot 753). from Ardrums House Stud. A Presenting colt out of a half-sister to Binocular, winner of the 2010 Champion Hurdle, is to be offered by Yellowford Farm (Lot 701).


Festival Gold Cup is also strongly represented in the catalogue, highlighted by Lot 775, a filly foal by Oscar and a close-relation this year’s Gold Cup winner Lord Windermere, as well as Lot 661, a Shirocco filly foal out of a half-sister to the 2011 Gold Cup winner and six-time Grade 1 winner, Long Run.


Lot 984 is an own-brother to Weapons Amnesty (Presenting), winner of the RSA Chase (G1) and the Albert Barlett Spa Novices Hurdle (G1), Lot 757 is a Jeremy three-quarters brother to Triumph Hurdle (G1) hero Our Conor, while this year’s Arkle Chase (G1) winner Western Warhorse has a Beat Hollow half-brother offered by Ashwood House ( Lot 592).

Foals out of talented racemares include a Yeats colt out of the five-time Grade 1 winner Solerina,( Lot 800), a Robin Des Champs colt from Cornborough Manor Stables and out of the Aintree Hurdle (G1) runner-up Gaspara (Lot 801), while own-sisters and half-sisters to the Hatton’s Grace Hurdle (G1) winner Voler La Vedette have progeny listed as Lot 900, Lot 943 and Lot 957. Lot 958. is a colt foal by Robin Des Champs and the first out of Voler La Vedette herself.


Young stallions such as Ask, Fame And Glory, Masterofthehorse, September Storm, Getaway, Le Fou and Sans Frontieres offer exciting new options to foal buyers, alongside the leading proven stallions such as Presenting, Oscar, Kayf Tara, Milan and Flemensfirth.


The concluding session of older horses is followed by mares which gives breeders a chance to add to their broodmare bands with both proven and maiden mares.


The Grade 1 third and multiple graded-placed Avondhu Lady ( Lot 1424), is offered by Hillview Stud carrying a first pregnancy to Presenting, while the preceding lot, the Grade 3 winner Asigh Pearl, is offered on an April cover in-foal to Shirocco by Sheridan House Stables as Lot 1423.


Well-bred mares include Lot 1421 Cailin Eireann, an own-sister to Gallant Oscar and sold in-foal to Robin Des Champs, Golden Firth (Lot 1418), a half-sister to the Grade 1-placed Boychuk and in-foal to Milan; Cordowna(Lot 1406), in-foal to Shirocco and a half-sister to seven winners, including World Hurdle (G1) winner More Of That.


Egmont Stud offers Little Dil, a half-sister to the dual Grade 1 runner-up and Lismullen Hurdle (G2) winner Whatuthink and in-foal to Presenting (Lot 1417), while Goldford Stud sends Rock Me Gently, a half-sister to the three-time Grade 1 chase winner Riverside Theatre and in-foal to Milan (Lot 1391).
