The Bar One Racing ‘Dual Race Day’ took place at Dundalk Stadium’s all-weather horse and greyhound track on Sunday 16th August 2015.
A 7 horse race card was followed by 12 greyhound races featuring the annual Bar One Racing Irish Sprint Cup Final.
Ireland’s only sprint Classic event, The Bar One Racing Irish Sprint Cup has a total prize fund of over €35,000 and a winner’s purse of €20,000.
The Bar One Racing Mourne Handicap took place in the afternoon, won by Oisin Orr on BALMONT MAST for owner Derek Iceton and trainer Edward Lynam. Photograph attached show sponsor Barney O’Hare presenting trophy to winning connection.
The other feature horse race on the day was The Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund ‘Red God’ Handicap of €50,000 which was won by Conor Hoban on INTISARI by quite a margin for owner Sean Jones and trainer Ger Lyons. Photograph attached shows INTISARI crossing the finish line.
The big race in the evening was the highlight of the last number of weeks whittling down to the fastest 6 sprinters. In the end SLIPALONG HERO won the impressive prize pot of €20,000 for owner Fergus O’Farrell from Coalisland and trainer Gerry Hoilian.
