11 runners declared for Tattersalls Irish 2000 Guineas
Aidan O’Brien’s Gleneagles will bid to become just the fourth horse this century to complete the English and Irish 2,000 Guineas double in Saturday’s Tattersalls Irish 2,000 Guineas at the Curragh. He will be ridden by Ryan Moore.
The Group One Classic has attracted a total of 11 runners following this morning’s declaration of runners. A very strong British trained challenge will be headed by the Roger Varian trained Belardo (James Doyle) and the Richard Hannon trained pair of Ivawood (Richard Hughes) and Lexington Times (Fran Berry)
The Dermot Weld trained Tombelaine (Pat Smullen), Endless Drama (Andre Atzeni) and Convergence (Colm Keane) both trained by Ger Lyons and Mohaayed (Chris Hayes) trained by Kevin Prendergast are among the other home trained contenders for the 300,000 euro contest.
